“Morality is inversely proportional to power.” — Ansh Maini

  1. Morality decreases as power increases
  2. Morality increases as power decreases

This law is suggesting that as man gains power his faith in morality decreases. Whoever has read my previous work, “Morality: An Excuse” knows my stance on morality. Morality was an instrument invented by the weak to justify their position.

There are two types of people, one who have power and others who don't. This is a fact about our species that has remained constant throughout history. Even in prehistoric times, some hunters were more dominant in the group. Even today we have politicians and entrepreneurs who have more power than the masses.

We are hardwired to make excuses because it is easier to think circumstances were terrible than to admit we are wrong. For some reason, we have a strong bias about ourselves. We want to feel that there is something special about us. Unfortunately in reality we are just like the other animals, except we got favoured by natural selection.

Morality was just another excuse made up by mankind to feel good about themselves. Evolutionary Psychology says that the weak knew they couldn't compete with the stronger elites so they unconsciously came up with the concept of good and bad to feel they have a purpose. Thus we hear people say rich are greedy and terrible, even though they’ll kill a person to be in their position.

Now that you've gotten the basic idea let's return to the law.

“Morality is inversely proportional to power.”

It's mostly the poor or middle-class talking about the ideas of equality, justice, good and evil because they are weak. We suppress those thoughts in our unconscious which we cannot accept. Therefore they created a story where they are the victims and the rich are evil. The only problem with this mindset is that there is no objective ‘good’ or ‘evil’ they are stories invented by the weak.

The rich are not as ethical as the poor class because they do not have an excuse to make for their situation. Poor use morality to shy away from the fact that they aren’t dominant enough. But the rich are the dominant ones.

Why would they believe in stories meant to please the weak?

Hence morality decreases as power increases.

I rest my case.
